March sits about ten miles south of our Wisbech base, on one of the old islands of higher ground that rose above the fen before it was drained. GRW Homes covers the whole town and the villages around it, from Westry and Wimblington to Doddington and Benwick, for groundworks, extensions, driveways and drainage.

The town grew around the railway, and it shows in the houses: Victorian and Edwardian terraces near the station and along Broad Street, inter-war semis, and large post-war and modern estates spreading out towards the bypass. Many of those homes are now ready for a kitchen extension, a wider drive or a garden that finally drains.

Ground conditions change quickly across March. The town centre is on firmer clay and gravel, but the land drops into soft fen silt and peat within a short distance. Foundations near the old course of the River Nene or on former fen fields often need a deeper design, and we dig to whatever your engineer and building control set.
